At Odyseek, we recognize the importance of this gesture and have developed a sophisticated AI-powered Thank You Letter Generator to help you craft the perfect post interview thank you email. Our Career AI with a Human Eye™ technology ensures that each thank you note is personalized, impactful, and memorable. Here are the top ten tips for writing an effective thank you letter, along with how our AI tool can guide you through each step.

Although a follow up email after an interview is always a nice touch, it is also expected by many interviewers. However, when used masterfully, it can be a great way to cover on something you missed in your interview or emphasize a specific area of your skills. Here are our top suggestions:

1: Send one letter to each interviewer

Make sure to get all your interviewers' emails and spell their name correctly. Start the followup email by greeting the recipient.

2: Be sure to customize each letter

Do not use the same template for each interviewer. One of the companies we worked for would circulate thank you letters amongst other interviewers to compare. A personalized note for each person is a great way to show a company you go above and beyond.

3: Reiterate your excitement

A great opener is to express how excited you are of the opportunity or the chance to work with a specific leader. Exuding enthusiasm conveys passion and a great way to remind them why they should have you on their team.

4: Show gratitude

Thank the interviewer for their time, but also thank them for the value they brought. This could be a better understanding of the role or the industry, show them you valued their expertise. Everyone loves to feel valued.

5: Highlight a part of your conversation

A great way to personalize your 'thank you' is to include something discussed. It could be that you both share a specific passion or hobby or a specific work pain point. Remind them of the connection!

6: Be authentic

It's important to be authentic and the best way to do this is to be personal. Humanize the interviewer and yourself. If you're passionate about a specific topic discussed, bring it up.

7: Be concise and to the point

Use the “power of 3's”. Use bullet points and impact statements. This is your opportunity to highlight 3 reasons why they need to hire you. For example, this could be 3 skills that the leader stated they are looking for. Dive into each one and how you exemplify each skill.

8: Clarify with ease

If you feel you didn't answer a question as articulately as you had hoped or ran out of time, this is your do-over. Expand on a specific area and get to the point quickly.

9: End it with a powerful close

Use your last paragraph to reiterate your excitement. The buildup of your note should reiterate your true value, why you'd be an important asset to the team, or specific gaps that you would fill. Open the line of communication for further questions or discussion if needed (include how to reach you).

10: Proofread and proofread again

Don't forget to proofread for typos & grammar errors. Once proofread, send it within 24 hours of the interview. Day of is preferred. If you're sending a physical card, make sure to also send an email in case the card is lost in the mail or delayed.

If all of this feels overwhelming, don’t worry we are here to help! With Odyseek's AI-powered Thank You Note Generator, crafting these crucial interview follow up email is simpler and more effective. Interview Follow Up Sample Email #2:

Hi , *sent to CEO
Thank you so much for lunch today and for your time. It was such a great experience meeting you, and the Team. I was extremely impressed by the Team's passion and commitment. I would love to be a part of your vision and to help make an immediate impact - not only for , but for customers.
As you prepare for the debrief, I thought it would be helpful to share the Process Review Document which you can find here .
Within the Review, there was an additional example that we did not go over which included a Sales proposal template that I recently created for . This was one of the first projects I shipped which was to build a proposal template from scratch that previously did not exist. This enhancement streamlined the overall sales proposal process. I thought it would be helpful to include a client facing document alongside an internal example.
I'm confident that I can help you scale the Business Operations function based on the following:
a) Scaling early stage startups from 0 to $750M in annual revenue
b) Building sales team support functions that focused on operational rigor and consistency
c) Measuring success by crafting KPIs and metrics that matter
I'm really excited for this opportunity and if there's anything else that I can provide you to aid in your decision, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Thanks!
